USA State Payroll Rates + Resources: State of Connecticut: New Hire Reporting

Purpose

The purpose of this documentation is to outline the processes and requirements associated with reporting new hires in the state of Connecticut.

New Hire Reporting

All Connecticut employers are required to report all newly-hired employees within 20 days of hiring them. If an employee returns to work for your company after a separation of 60 days or more, the employee should be reported as a new hire. The Date of Hire is the first day compensated services are performed by an employee.

The Connecticut Department of Labor New Hire Reporting site has been under construction since September, 2019. The only reporting options, therefore, are to mail or fax the CT-W4 form to the following address:

Connecticut Department of Labor

Office of Research, ATTN: CT-W4

200 Folly Brook Boulevard

Wethersfield, CT 06109

Fax: 1(800) 816 1108
