Purpose

The purpose of this documentation is to outline the processes and requirements associated with reporting and paying unemployment insurance in the state of Arkansas.

Unemployment Insurance Reporting & Payments

Employers are required by Law to file wage reports on a quarterly basis whether or not wages have been paid in the quarter. Quarterly reports may be filed in the three following formats:

  1. Online through the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services.  

  2. Paper reports may be submitted utilizing the following forms (Form ARK-DWS-209B)

  3. Reports via magnetic media (i.e. CD/DVD). 

If an employer has 250 or more employees, it is a requirement to file via electronic transmission.

Quarterly wage reports are due the last day of the month following the end of the quarter. The unemployment tax payment is to be remitted with the quarterly report:

Arkansas' taxable wage base is currently $10,000. The new employee rate is 3.1%.
