Purpose

The purpose of this documentation is to outline the processes and requirements associated with doing your new hire reporting in the state of Idaho

New Hire Reporting

Federal and state law requires employers to report newly hired and re-hired employees in Idaho at the Idaho Department of Labor New Hire Reporting website.

Information needed to report

  • Employee Name

  • Address

  • Social Security Number

  • Start Date (first day employee worked for wages)

  • Employer Name

  • Employer Address

  • Federal Employer Identification Number

  • State Unemployment Insurance Account Number (Unless exempt/non-covered employer)

You can also report your new hires by filling out the Idaho New Hire Reporting Form (with a completed copy of the IRS form W-4), and sending by mail or fax within 20 days of the date of hire.
