Hibou Odoo Suite: Payroll Modules: US Payroll: Ohio State Payroll
Purpose
The purpose of this documentation is to outline the use case and processes associated with Hibou's Ohio State Payroll module for Odoo. The Ohio State Payroll module includes contribution registers and calculations for the Ohio Department of Revenue.
Getting Started
First thing's first, we need to install the module! Navigate to the Apps application, remove the Apps filter from the search bar, and then search for 'USA - Ohio - Payroll'. When ready, hit Install.
Good to Know!
The Ohio State Payroll module requires requires Hibou's USA Payroll module and Odoo's Payroll application. However, if you do not already have these installed, Odoo will install them for you during this module's installation!
Processes
To get started, navigate to the Employees application.

Configuring an Employee Contract
After selecting USA Ohio Employee for the Salary Structure, click on the US State Filing tab.
Fill in the following fields, which are found on the employee's completed Ohio IT-4 document:
Allowances: Total allowances found on line 4 of the completed Ohio IT-4 document.
Additional Withholding: Any additional withholding found on line 5 of the completed Ohio IT-4 document.
It is also important to enter W4 information in the US Federal Filing tab section, which is provided by Hibou's USA Payroll module.
When finished, hit SAVE.
Important!
Ensure that the status of the contract is Running. A contract that is not Running cannot be used during payroll. To change this, simply click 'Running' in the status bar on the contract.
New Payslip Computations and Categories
When running payroll, after hitting COMPUTE SHEET you will see the various new Ohio State taxes in the Salary Computation tab.
Technical
This module includes contribution registers and partners for:
Ohio Department of Revenue - Unemployment
Ohio Department of Revenue - Income Tax withholding
Additionally, it adds a contract level Ohio Withholding Allowance and a company level Ohio Unemployment Rate.
