Hibou Odoo Suite: Tools + Settings Modules: Boxes

Purpose

This documentation covers how to find your hibou box on the network and basic knowledge on where to obtain the queue information for the PrintBox and/or ShipBox setup.

Process

To get started, connect your raspberry pi via an ethernet cable to your network. From here plug in your scale, label printer, and/or PDF printer to the raspberry pi via USB.


Find Your IP Address

Enter the command prompt or terminal and enter in the following command:


MAC

ping raspberrypi.local

Windows

ping raspberrypi


Access the Box

It is important to note that this step is crucial with communicating with your Hibou Box within Odoo. Taking the IP address obtained in the command prompt/terminal, will then need to access it via the browser by typing in the following:

https://192.168.0.107 

eg. This IP Address is just for example purposes, and will more than likely be different for you


Regardless of the browser you are in, you will initially get a Your connection is not private type of message. How to bypass this will differ slightly depending on the browser but the end goal is the same: Click Advanced and then Proceed to the 'unsafe' webpage.

This will then take you to the page where you can see your IP address and other information. You can also configure your Hibou Box to use wifi instead of being connected via the ethernet cable.


Find the Queue Name of your Label/PDF Printer

It is important to note that this step is also crucial with communicating with your Hibou Box within Odoo. Taking the IP address obtained in the command prompt/terminal, will then need to access it via the browser by typing in the following:

https://192.168.0.107:631 

eg. This IP Address is just for example purposes, and will more than likely be different for you. Use the port to access the Queue Name of the printers

From here navigate over to the Printers tab, this is the queue name that will be used to configure your printer.
