Hibou Odoo Suite: New York State Payroll
The purpose of this documentation is to outline the use case and processes associated with Hibou's New York State Payroll module for Odoo. The New York State Payroll module includes contribution registers and calculations for the New York Department of Taxation and Finance.
First thing's first, we need to install the module! Navigate to the Apps application, remove the Apps filter from the search bar, and then search for 'USA - New York - Payroll'. When ready, hit Install.
Good to Know!
The New York State Payroll module requires requires Hibou's USA Payroll module and Odoo's Payroll application. However, if you do not already have these installed, Odoo will install them for you during this module's installation!
To get started, navigate to the Employees application.
Configuring an Employee Contact
After selecting USA New York Employee for the Salary Structure, click on the US State Filing tab.
Fill in the following fields, which are found on the employee's completed New York NY IT-2104 form:
NY IT-2104 Filing Status: Employee's New York filing status found at the top of the completed NY IT-2104 document.
NY IT-2104 Allowances: Number of allowances claimed on line 1 of the employee's completed IT-2104 document.
Additional Allowances: Any additional withholding found on line 3 of the employee's completed IT-2104 document.
It is also important to enter W4 information in the US Federal Filing tab section, which is provided by Hibou's USA Payroll module.
Ensure that the status of the contract is Running. A contract that is not Running cannot be used during payroll. To change this, simply click 'Running' in the status bar on the contract.
This module does not include the specific tax rules for New York City and Yonkers.
This module includes a contribution register and partner for the New York Department of Taxation and Finance. Additionally, it adds a contract level New York State Income Tax along with company level:

New York Re-employment Service Fund
New York Metropolitan Commuter Transportation Mobility Tax
