Manufacturing: Configuration: Settings
Purpose
The purpose of this document is to go over the configuration options in the Odoo 14 Manufacturing application.
Process
To get started, navigate to the Manufacturing app.
Once there, click Configuration > Settings.
Operations
Work Orders: Enabling this option allows you to process operations at specific work centers based on the routing. It adds steps and locations to your manufacturing process. It also adds an Overview tab to the application allowing you to access individual locations quickly.
Once enabled, you'll see the following:
Work Centers: Manage and create available Work Centers.
Print barcode commands: Generates a printable page for barcode commands to automate the manufacturing process.
Timer: This option enables a timer on Work Orders that can be paused and resumed by production staff.
Lock Quantities to Consume: When enabled, consumed quantities of components can only be changed by standard users when unlocked, and it will lock all Manufacturing Orders automatically upon confirmation.
By-Products: Enable this option if your manufacturing results in by-products that need to be accounted for, or pushed back into your inventory for further usage.
Subcontracting: Enable this option If portions of your manufacturing process are subcontracted.
Quality: Add quality checks to your manufacturing process with this option.
Planning
Master Production Schedule: Enable this option for a higher-level of production planning. You can modify your default time-ranges and columns in the settings below. See Master Production Schedule for further documentation.
Security Lead Time: Enabling this option allows you to avoid delays by auto-scheduling orders earlier.
