The Technical Support Assistant role will develop written documentation across all applications within Odoo, an open-source ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) platform. They will also evaluate customer support requests, determining next steps and triaging to get it to the appropriate person in a timely manner.

About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Create written documentation for all applications within Odoo, across a variety of use cases, learning the platform as you go.

  • Document both internal and client processes.

  • Monitor chat and email support channels; triaging, ensuring the request gets in front of the appropriate person and tracking to ensure follow ups are provided.

  • Ticket creation and management, as needed.

  • Scheduling and managing the calendar for customer support, training and demo calls.

Required Skills

  • Experience in customer support and issue escalation/resolution.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • An ability to work independently. Capable of managing your time effectively and performing job responsibilities without 24/7 oversight (this is a remote position!).

  • Strong computer skills, including the ability to make use of common tools (for example, Google Docs, Sheets, etc.).

  • High-level of organization and attention to detail.

  • Software support background

  • Experience with user testing

Other Things You Should Know

  • This is a remote position. There is some flexibility here regarding when hours are worked, but we do need someone that can primarily work Monday-Friday during normal US business hours. It’s very important that you know yourself well enough to understand if you can self-manage your time and responsibilities each day when in that environment.
  • There will be metrics and goals for this role. We'll work together to find the ones that make the most sense and will review them together regularly.
  • You may have noticed the absence of any required degree. This isn’t an oversight! We value experience and an established pattern of taking on challenges and learning new skills over a degree in a specific field.

This will help you and your manager gauge your understanding of that application and various use cases in order to supplement with additional support and learning resources, as needed.
