Purpose

The purpose of this documentation is to outline the processes and requirements associated with doing your new hire reporting in the state of West Virginia. 

    New Hire Reporting

    Federal and State law requires employers to report newly hired and re-hired employees in West Virginia to the West Virginia New Hire Reporting Center.

    You must report the following information:

    Employer

    • Federal Employer ID Number

    • Employer Name

    • Employer Address

    Employee

    • Social Security Number

    • Legal name

    • Address

    • Start Date

    • State of hire (if reporting as a multi-state employer)

    You can report online with the WV New HIre Reporting center. To do so, visit West Virginia to the West Virginia New Hire Reporting Center and click on Register and create your account.
